For La Cité des Sciences et de l’lndustrie à la Villette, Basic Théâtral de Lyon explores our solar system. A sphere of 8 metres in diameter is to be the space in which a programme about the planets is to be developped with our explanation of our solar system.
Basic’s role is to translate accurately scientific information and present it in way that is both light-hearted and easily understood.
Here the visitor goes through a perforated metal tunnel where he can see all around him the illusion of our universe in space. The planets appear and disappear in lights, and modules like satellites deliver their messages.
For “La Galerie de l’Evolution du Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle” in Paris Basic has gone under the sand to discover its inhabitants. They discovered a world, little known except for the experts in the museums and with their help made models of various species magnified 800 times. The visitors push aside giant grains of sand to enter this magical world, Méiofaune. Listen to the sounds of the minute shellfish and be told about the habits and idiosyncracies of these rock pool dwellers.
Nefertari, Luce d’Egitto - The Getty Conservation Institute (USA) and the Fondazionne Memmo (Italia)
Original objects coming from all the world accompany the Nefertari’s and Ramsès II’s travel across the centuries.
Basic Théâtral de Lyon imagines the amotsphere of this divine journey until the Nefertari will be saved.
From october 1994 to June 1995, this exhibition was an immense public sucess with the average of 2000 visitors each day.
These exhibitions, designed with theatral dimension, have attracted general public acclaim and brought to visitors authentic informations.
