The National Archaeological Museum in Athens put back on display a priceless collection of Minoan frescoes, as well as other artifacts, from the island of Santorini yesterday. The public had not been able to view the antiquities since 1999 when the 19th century building was badly damaged in an earthquake. The museum’s restoration program cost some 15 million euros. The ‘Lady of Kalymnos,’ a Hellenistic-era bronze statue, was also put on display.
